Chimney Inspection

Chimney Inspection

We evaluate the chimney or venting system to assess its condition and determine if it’s fit for use.

Re-Inspection

Chimney Inspection

Chimney Inspection

A follow-up inspection of a previously performed service to verify repairs were made. The client must present a list of items to inspect before the re-inspection. Only the items requested to be checked will be viewed during this follow-up inspection.

Radon

Chimney Inspection

Standard Va/FHA Water Test

We recommend that home-buyers have their prospective investments tested for potential radon contamination—and whether the home is old or new, it’s still a good idea for you to consider. Radon is an invisible and odorless gas that is one of the leading causes of lung cancer according to the EPA. When we perform this inspection service, we’ll utilize specialized equipment to determine whether or not the radon levels in the home are currently at safe levels.

Standard Va/FHA Water Test

Our well water testing service provides the third party, unbiased testing required by the FHA / VA loan agreement. Testing results are returned from the lab in two to three days under normal circumstances.

Air Quality

Standard Va/FHA Water Test

Swimming Pool

Are you susceptible to allergens, often sick, or just curious how sanitary the air is within your home? Though routine cleaning can help combat airborne contamination, sometimes serious toxins are not so easily remedied. 2 samples are drawn with an exterior control and interior location to provide just what microscopic particles may be present.

Swimming Pool

Standard Va/FHA Water Test

Swimming Pool

Before you take a dip this summer, make sure everything is running safely and in proper condition! Inspections include written reports pertaining to the physical condition of the pool structure, interior, and decking, if the safety features meet local requirements, and operation of the equipment, etc.

Lead

Septic Inspection

Buying a home pre1978? Chances are lead based paint may be present. Potential locations are crumbling plaster, rotted wood doors, and windows. A toxic threat, due to heavy metals, it can contribute to various health issues such as brain damage, vital organs such as kidneys, and to the blood stream. Especially a threat to small children, testing for its presence can only ensure the long term safety of you and your family.

Septic Inspection

We evaluate the interior of the tank and its contents, the condition of the piping and baffles, and the underground condition of the percolation areas.

Mold

Septic Inspection

Warranty Inspections

The mold test can also be used to determine if mold spores are elevated in the air that may not be visible to the naked eye. We can also provide "Clearance Letters" after mold remediation has been performed to determine if the problem has been adequately corrected.

Warranty Inspections

Termite Inspection / CL-100

Warranty Inspections

Most builders provide a one-year warranty for new construction. Generally during this period of time the buyer develops a “punch list“ of corrections for the contractor to repair under the warranty coverage. Some defects will not be obvious to the untrained eye. It is prudent to obtain our home inspectors list of items that will most likely be repaired by your builder at no cost to you. You will be reassured knowing that potential problems were addressed before they grew into something that could cost you a great deal down the road.

New Construction

Termite Inspection / CL-100

Termite Inspection / CL-100

In a new home, the quality of construction is often not what it used to be some years ago, therefore many buyers have independent reviews of their properties during various stages of the construction process, including slab, frame, and final inspection. This relatively inexpensive inspection protects your purchase, prevents unpleasant surprises, and ensures the quality home that you‘ve dreamed about.

Termite Inspection / CL-100

A termite/WDI (wood destroying insect) inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a structure for evidence of wood-destroying insects. We can also issue a CL-100 if needed.

Premium Water Test

The Premium Water Test is designed to check for a wide range of natural and chemical contaminants, including cancer-causing contaminants. If you have never had this type of test done or live near any gas stations or commercial properties, we strongly recommend having this done. It will give us a tremendous amount of information to help you feel great about the quality of your water.

Major Systems Only / Investors

During our 1-2 hour inspection, we will determine if the home is structurally sound, the exterior is water tight, and the main electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems are safe and in good condition.

Roof Inspection

Usually, a roof inspection will include examining the soffit and fascia, looking at the condition of the gutters and downspouts, evaluating the rooftop vents, and looking for signs of missing roofing material or shingles. The flashing of the roof is always important and should be repaired or replaced whenever damage is evident in that area.

Radon in Water

When the ground produces radon, it can dissolve and accumulate in water from underground sources (called ground water), such as wells. When water that contains radon is run for showering, washing dishes, cooking, and other uses, radon gas escapes from the water and goes into the air. Some radon also stays in the water.
